1970s The Chariot Cosmic Couture Blue Galaxy Pattern Velour Long Sleeve Top / Large
“Cosmic Couture” by The Chariot, opened by husband-and-wife team Yosha Leeger and Barry Finch, they were apart of the former Dutch art collective ‘The Fool’. The Fool was best known for designing the store, artwork, and clothing for the Beatles, Apple Boutique a ready to wear shop that lasted only one year, in 1968. And painting the Aquarius Theater for the L.A. production of Hair 1968-1971.
Cosmic Couture was opened in 1970 in L.A. on Melrose, inside you would find the rainbow front desk coordinated with the clothes, which included selections from handmade pieces, and their own Cosmic Couture line. Cosmic Couture had been attributed to faming the west coast ‘Hippie Chic’ aesthetic, these two tops are wonderful examples of Cosmic Coutures groovy vibes.

Scoop neckline, long sleeves, and slightly fitted silhouette. Unlined and fabric has stretch. Label: “Cosmic Couture” by The Chariot circa 1970s.
